CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics announces the 2009 "Meet N Greet" tour dates with Coaches Zook, Weber, Law and others making four stops along the way to visit with the Illini Nation. The four scheduled stops include Bloomington on May 4, Peoria on May 11, Springfield on May 13 and Chicagoland (Oak Brook) on May 20.
Fighting Illini Head Football Coach Ron Zook will be the highlighted speaker at all four events. Mens Basketball Coach Bruce Weber will be in attendance in Bloomington and Springfield, with an assistant coach speaking in Chicago and Peoria, while womens basketball coach Jolette Law will attend three events in Bloomington, Springfield and Chicago. Fans will have the opportunity to take photos, get autographs and ask direct questions of the coaches. Team posters, ticket information and schedule cards will be available at each stop.
"I always have a great time getting out to many of the communities and meeting our loyal Illini fans," Zook said. "Anytime we can get in front of our fans and talk about the direction of the programs here at Illinois, the better we promote the University of Illinois as a whole. It is enjoyable to interact with people who have such passion for Illinois."
All four events are free admission and include complimentary appetizers and a cash bar. All Meet N Greets will begin at 6 p.m. Due to space limitations, the events are limited to the first 500 fans, with the exception of Bloomington, which is limited to the first 250.
