Weber to Coach in Hersheys College All-Star Game Illini coach to lead Reeses Squad on Final Four Friday at Detroits Ford Field
Champaign, Ill.--Illinois Head Coach Bruce Weber will coach in the Hersheys College All-Star Game, which take place Friday, April 3 at 3:30 p.m. CT. The game is part of Final Four weekend and will be played at Ford Field in Detroit. CBS College Sports will televise it live.
The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has selected rosters for the game, featuring some of the top seniors in the nation. Weber will coach the Reeses All-Stars, along with Purdues Matt Painter. Players on the Reeses roster are Tyrese Rice (Boston College), Orlando Mendez-Valdez (Western Kentucky), Josh Akognon (Cal State Fullerton), Alex Ruoff (West Virginia), Josh Bostic (Findlay), B.J. Raymond (Xavier), Alfred Aboya (UCLA), Marcus Landry (Wisconsin), John Bryant (Santa Clara) and Josh Heytvelt (Gonzaga).
The Reeses squad will take on the Hersheys All-Stars, coached by former Arkansas head coach Nolan Richardson and Missouris Mike Anderson. Players on the Hersheys roster are Justin Dentmon (Washington), Ben Woodside (North Dakota State), Jermaine Taylor (Central Florida), Jimmy Bartolotta (MIT), Lee Cummard (BYU), Josh Carter (Texas A&M), Korvotney Barber (Auburn), Aron Baynes (Washington State), Luke Nevill (Utah) and Diamon Simpson (St. Marys).
This is Webers second time coaching in the NABC College All-Star Game. During the 2006 Final Four weekend in Indianapolis, Weber directed the Senior All-Stars to victory over the Harlem Globetrotters at Conseco Fieldhouse.
