3/12- Chester Frazier Perhaps "Doubtful" For Big Ten Tourney

Updated: March 12, 2009
INDIANAPOLIS — The Big Ten tournament is under way, and the news is not good for Illinois. Senior guard Chester Frazier, who sustained a hand injury Wednesday at the teams practice facility, is considered doubtful for Fridays quarterfinal game against Michigan. A UI athletics spokesman said Frazier might be listed as doubtful for the weekend. The athletics training staff initially called the injury a severely bruised hand. Frazier underwent X-rays Wednesday, but the results have not been released. Second-seeded Illinois (23-8) will play Michigan at 5:30 p.m. Friday (Big Ten Network). Michigan beat Iowa 73-45 on Thursday. A 6-foot-2 guard and a team captain, Frazier left Wednesdays practice with a brace on his right hand and wrist. He appeared to be in considerable pain. Officials said Frazier will be reevaluated by doctors today. Hes expected to travel with the team to Indianapolis, after the Illini finish practice in Champaign this afternoon.
