The governor still made it to Springfield .. but hes a no show for a special meeting with lawmakers. Today the House met as whole to debate the governors plan to lease the state lottery to raise billions for the pension fund. My CFNS Abbie Alford sat down with the governor one-on-one .... In the near ten minutes we talked ... The governor bashed the house speaker calling his special meeting a three ring circus. The house already passed a budget but the governor says its a plan taking millions away from health care. So now during his order of special session hes meeting with lawmakers to get on board with his and Senate President Emil Jones plan to expand gambling and raise taxes on businesses to generate money for healthcare and education. Meantime hes calling Speaker Madigan a "Right wing conservative" "You cant be a democrat if you pass a budget that takes healthcare away from 225 thousand kids. Even President Bush wouldnt be for a budget like that. Mr. Madigan and the house democrats passed a budget like that." Said Governor Rod Blagojevich, D-Illinois. Madigans Spokesperson says this a new low for the governor. The houses budget is being held in the house.
