Deputy Still Critical

Updated: June 25, 2007
tommymartinMUGlargetemplate2007-06-25-1182815195.gif  TUSCOLA - The Douglas County chief deputy shot twice during last week's crime spree remains in critical condition. 59-year-old Tommy Martin underwent two surgeries after being shot in the face and torso.
Police say after shooting the deputy one suspect was later arrested. The other held people hostage inside a bank in Arcola and was arrested 8 hours later.
Douglas County Sheriff Charlie McGrew says the department is getting a lot of support. They've had so many phone calls they haven't been able to return them all.
I'd you'd like to send a card or flowers to Martin's family you can send them to the sheriff's department.
