Soldier Killed In Iraq To Be Buried in Danville

warA former local man killed May 26th while serving in Iraq will be buried in Danville this week with full military honors. Corporal Francis Trussel Jr. had been living in Lincoln with his wife and two children. Corporal Trussel attended Danville schools and moved to Lincoln to attend college. He was serving as a tank operator in Iraq when he was killed by a roadside bomb. A celebration of Trussel’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. Visitation is Tuesday from four until eight p.m. at the funeral home at 3940 North Vermilion in Danville. Trussel was a 2003 graduate of Deland-Weldon High School. He was a member of the Army’s 1st Battalion, 12th Calvary regiment.
