Community members are coming together for a memorial service honoring Cole Spencer who died last month in Iraq. In a town where a population just topped 200, this is a big event. Everyone from family and friends to neighbors and strangers are turning out to pay their respects. Some organizers have never even met Spencer, still they say this night is important. The memorial is located at a well known landmark.. This double decker outhouse is what Gays is known for. Everyone feels this is the perfect place for Spencer. Every time people to stop to see this sign, they’ll read about his sacrifice.
