ParklandLogo200x133large2007-05-04-1178333478.gifStarting Monday students at Parkland can expect to see tightened security on campus. This afternoon the crisis team held a panel discussion to talk about emergency plans. Police say the Virginia Tech shootings last month pointed to some important areas in need of improvement. Parkland’s Chief of Police, Von Young says now is the perfect time to take a look at their plans. He says, “We needed to re-educate our people. Our crisis plan has actually been in place for years but we just thought this might be a good time to bring it out, dust it off and refresh people's memory of it. Panelists also discussed how to react to other emergencies like fires and severe weather.
