U of I Student Stabbed in Rome

logoROME, ITALY - A U of I student is recovering tonight after being stabbed in the chest with a knife after being hit in the head with an umbrella on a trip to Italy.

It happened when 21-year-old Matthew Bochenek of Park Ridge got into a fight with 20 other people. The U of I engineering student had been studying overseas in Madrid and decided to travel to Rome for Easter.

He remains in the hospital. His condition is not being released.
