Champaign County Pours More Money into New Nursing Home

Updated: March 29, 2007
nursingThe Champaign County board poured more money into the new nursing home Thursday night but not without questions. The nursing home director asked for a $300,000 loan. He says it will cover a deficit racked up during the three month delay for move-in. Some members question whether that money will ever be paid back. Meantime, the board also approved up to $7,000 to bring in a company to investigate how the home was built. Some say it sits too low which could cause drainage problems. The county board goes into mediation with the architects in May. Members hope this investigation gives them leverage.
