PayneGEORGETOWN - Anrecia Payne from Georgetown found herself in a scary situation last week. Nurses say her quick thinking and dialing saved her father’s life. The day started out normal for 9-year old Anrecia. After school she was watching TV when her dad, Ronald Payne was forced to put her in charge. She says he told her he wasn’t feeling well, and asked her to call her grandfather. Ronald says from there, things went from bad to worse. He had no idea, but he had two blood clots in his lungs, and he says he could feel himself losing conciseness. He says, “It was just like I could feel myself fading out and I told her, let's just call 9-1-1. That’s just what Anrecia did. She says the 9-1-1 operator had lots of questions. Anrecia says, “She said is anyone else home with you and I said yes me my brother and my dad.” Ronald collapsed on the floor, and couldn’t move or talk. He could only lie there and listen as his brave little girl told the lady on the phone her daddy needed help. He says this experience has changed his life forever, and taught him not to sweat the small stuff. He adds, “It puts things into perspective for what's important and what's not important to me.”
