RANTOUL -- Students are celebrating a big win. They placed first in the Financial Literacy Bowl. It's a competition about real world stuff like banking, insurance and credit.

Each senior on the team won a $1,000 scholarship and a medal but, they say, on top of that, it's great knowing they're getting prepared for the real world.

All the questions they answered were business- and financially-themed, like savings and interest. Rantoul Township was one of 18-teams competing. Six seniors were on the winning team.

Aside from being prepared for the event, the students say their neon-green headbands helped them win. They wore those with business-style attire.

The Literacy Financial Bowl is a part of Illinois Advisory Corps. It's a group helping seniors prepare for college.
