Transportation advocates seek more funding
Updated: March 18, 2013
Advocates met in Decatur to talk about the issue and offer some solutions. They say poor road conditions could cost the economy. That's because prices could go up and some businesses will leave the area or never come here in the first place.
The Illinois Jobs Now! Capital Program is also set to expire. Money from that has already been spent and set aside for specific projects. Lawmakers gave out more than $675 million in additional funding in January, but advocates say most of it went toward bridge repairs around the state.
