Marriage equality bill hits bumpy road

SPRINGFIELD -- A bill legalizing same-sex marriage is stalling at the capitol. The sponsor is still working to get enough votes.

Reports show it's about 12 votes shy. It needs 60 to pass in the house. It's already passed out of the senate. Advocates say they're not worried, and believe it's just a matter of time before it happens.

Critics disagree and claim it will never make it out of the house. If it does eventually pass, the bill will then head to Governor Quinn's desk who's already said he will sign it into law.
