Power restored for thousands of people

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- Power is now back on for thousands of people. It went out sometime around 6:30 a.m. Friday morning for about 7,000 people living between Champaign and Danville. Ameren says a conductor failed on the transmission line running from those two cities. Once crews found it, power was back on just before 7 a.m.
