CHAMPAIGN -- More people in Champaign County are taking MTD to get around. The Mass Transit District says last month's ridership went up by about 70,000 riders. That's an increase of 5% compared to last February.

CUMTD also set a new record for single-day riders. March 1 saw nearly 70,000 people on buses. That was UI's "Unofficial" St. Patrick's Day.
