PEORIA -- A religious relic made a stop in Central Illinois. It's a bone from the body of Mary Magdalene.

The display is traveling from France and is making its way through Catholic churches around the country. Leaders say seeing the relic is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Deb Shanahan, a Catholic, said seeing it on display was amazing.

"We have a piece of bone from Mary Magdalene and that's amazing because it's a part of her earthly body. Because she's in heaven and that she's here in my church."

The display is also stopping at other churches in Central Illinois. It will be at St. John's in Princeville, Thursday, March 14, and St. Philomena's, Friday, March 15.
