CHAMPAIGN-- The Champaign County Freedom Celebration has a new home.

The 4th of July fireworks will be held on campus in the E-14 parking lot. That's right across from Assembly Hall.

The event used to be at Dodds Park, out by Parkland College. City leaders say parking there was a problem. And Champaign Police had to monitor the event while also handling calls for the entire city.

This year's theme is "United We Stand, Proudly We Serve." Champaign fire and police chiefs will serve as grand marshals.
