MacArthur, Eisenhower accepted by CS8

DECATUR - MacArthur and Eisenhower high schools are officially leaving the Big 12. They were accepted by the Central State Eight on Wednesday and will join the league starting with the 2014-2015 school year.
That means MacArthur and Eisenhower will compete in the Big 12 for just one more school year before leaving for the CS8, which is made up of schools in Springfield, Chatham, Jacksonville and Lincoln. MacArthur and Eisenhower were two of the smallest schools in the Big 12. Their enrollments will be more in the middle of the Central State Eight.
This move would drop the Big 12 down to just seven schools.
"We wish the Decatur schools well in their new conference." Centennial athletic director Brian Easter said. "Our conference continues to explore options for possible additions to the Big 12."
