Governor moves forward with consolidations

It comes less than a month after WCIA-3 News investigated with the Better Government Association. The order lists 75 boards and commissions. The governor's office says some were redundant. Others hadn't met for a long time.
WCIA-3's investigation in February found some boards sat vacant for years, others weren't following the Open Meetings Act and still others kept important information out of their minutes. The governor's spokesperson says there's not a figure for how much money it will save, but it's more about efficiency than cost savings.
