UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS -- Hundreds of people flooded campus Friday; not to raise money, but to check out cool projects. School kids stopped at the Engineering Open House.

All over the quad, students showed off their creations. Some were chemicals like liquid that turns solid when you touch it. Others were explosive.

Then there are students who are building their own race cars. This is the 93rd year of the Engineering Open House. It goes through Saturday.
