Spring proposes match play gymnastics

CHAMPAIGN - On Friday the Illinois men's gymnastics team will host Minnesota at 7:00 pm, and it will be gymnastics like you have never seen it before.

They'll use a new scoring system created by lllini head coach Justin Spring.  They're doing away with the traditional scoring system for one night.  Instead it will be a match play format with each athlete going head-to-head.

There will be 30 total points up for grabs, and the first team to 16 is your winner.
