SPRINGFIELD -- Lawmakers are at the half-way point to pass a statewide concealed-carry law. They voted Tuesday on some specific details which could be part of the final law, like bans on semi-automatic weapons and pistols. They also okayed a measure to require certain guns have locks when not in use.

But, some lawmakers aren't happy about the unusual way they're piecing the law together. House leaders say doing test votes is the best way to gauge what should be in the final gun control package. They have to come to an agreement by June 9.
