Winter weather: some like it cold!

Updated: March 5, 2013
IROQUOIS COUNTY -- Unless you have the luxury of staying inside all day, you probably got a taste of Tuesday's winter weather. But that didn't mean you had to stay out there.

Some people got warm by ordering some spicy food at a Mexican restaurant in Onarga. Dale Janssen came with his family. He doesn't mind the snow because it reminds him of Christmas. He used to fix power-lines, so when the weather was at its worst, he was doing his best work.

The snow started in Buckley on Tuesday morning while temperatures were close to the freezing point. Jodi Behrens, who lives there, walks to work everyday. Sidewalks and roads were slick, but she had a good attitude about it. But she said she's ready for spring.

That's what a lot of people said they expect in March: more spring-like weather. They're looking forward to later this week and later in the month for the sun to come out.
