URBANA -- The first ever Restaurant Week kicked off Monday. It's an opportunity for people to try local foods and get special deals on meals.

Ten restaurants are involved including one of the newest additions in Urbana: Louie's Dixie Kitchen. It just opened last month. Cajun-Creole food is on the menu there.

Owner Leah Pettit said Mondays are usually slow, but today has been busier than usual. She hopes people will be drawn in by the homey touches and enjoy the comfort food they serve up.

Another restaurant involved is Crane Alley. Head chef Brad Ledbetter said they're excited to be involved and show off the foods they make. He said a lot of their specials this week are perfect for splitting between two people.

Restaurant Week specials are good through Sunday. Click on this link to find out more about the deals.
