CHAMPAIGN -- They say one man's trash is another man's treasure. Artists had their treasures on display Saturday as part of the Idea Store's Hatch Art Festival.

Gail Rost, general manager of IDEA store, says the goal of the festival is to encourage people to reuse and recycle things instead of throwing them out.

"You got this great synergy going with people who have creative minds, thinking outside of the box about an object and what an object might be, and actually having the ability to execute something new," she said.

The festival was part of the four events planned by the Idea Store. It's expected to go through Saturday. The doors will open at 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.
