SPRINGFIELD -- Lawmakers went through 27 different ideas Tuesday to form what should be parts of the gun control package and what shouldn't. They agreed that no guns would be allowed in schools and daycare centers.

People won't be allowed to carry in casinos, amusement parks, stadiums, or government buildings, including parking lots for those areas. Lawmakers shot down proposals to ban guns in bars, college campuses, and public gatherings. Although, they say their proposal isn't perfect, they are still fine tuning.

"We've got to do it right and we want restrictions on there, no doubt about it. We've got a long way to go, but at the same time we're still in the game and we're excited about this," said Representative Brandon Phelps.
