The Area Agency on Aging for Lincolnland, which serves seniors in 12 counties including Sangamon, says about 100 seniors would feel the cuts. On Monday, the White House released a list of potential cuts to Illinois if those cuts take effect Friday.
The state could see a $33.4 million decrease in elementary and secondary education funding. Illinois is also on track to lose $6.4 million in environmental grants for clean air and water according to White House estimates.
