Former prison guard faces 20-years for child porn

SPRINGFIELD -- A former Illinois prison guard pleaded guilty to sexually
exploiting a minor, plus distributing and possessing child pornography.
46-year old Steven Carson, of Hillsboro, appeared in court Thursday.
He was arrested in August after an undercover operation revealed Carson actively participating in peer-to-peer file sharing of pornographic pictures of children. At the time, Carson was employed as a prison guard at Graham Correctional Center.
In court Thursday, Carson admitted using a child to perform sexually explicit acts while videotaping the encounter. More than 2,300 images and 40-videos were confiscated from Carson's possession. He faces up to 20-years in prison when he's sentenced in June.
