CHAMPAIGN -- People in the Jewish community are enjoying a 24-hour celebration. It's called Purim and it technically started at sundown Saturday night. People of all ages get to dress up and put on face paint. Organizers said it represents how some blessings are hidden, but we need to look past the disguise.

"Whether you see a one-year-old kid dressed up or a grandparent celebrating, we're all in the same boat of being happy and celebrating the joys we have in life, celebrating the blessings we have in life," said Rabbi Dovid Tiechtl, who is the executive director of Illini Chabad.

People there danced and ate together at The Refinery in Champaign. The Rabbi said the celebration helps them remember to be proud of who they are.
