CHAMPAIGN -- The kids at Don Moyer's Boys and Girls Club got a lesson in healthy eating. It's called "Kids in the Kitchen," and it has them cheering.

The Junior League hosted the event to teach kids to make healthy food and exercise choices. UI cheerleaders showed them how to be active.

The kids also made trail mix and learned what type of foods to eat. Organizers say they hope to show kids eating healthy can be fun and take that message home.

Childhood obesity is a problem which can be avoided. The Junior League says educating kids in programs like this and at home is key.
