MAHOMET -- A teacher got the surprise of a lifetime. 700 kids at Lincoln Trail School gathered in the gym to say "thank you" to P.E. teacher, Lu Rippy. The assembly was a total surprise for Rippy who's raised nearly a half-million dollars for the American Heart Association.

Rippy raised the money through her event, "Jump-Rope for Heart." She's been doing it 20-years. Now, she hopes her work sends her students a special message.
