CHAMPAIGN -- Crews have been getting ready for this storm all week. They loaded up trucks with salt and brine Monday. Then, workers pre-treated many streets Thursday morning, like this one on the west side of the city.

Public works officials say main roads are a priority. The smaller side streets get taken care of after that. They say they always want to be prepared.

Two crews plan to be out through the evening and into the night. About 24-people work on each team. They say it's a good reminder for drivers to give salt trucks and plows plenty of space while they're working.
