Park district exec resigns after allegedly misusing funds

SPRINGFIELD -- The executive director of the Springfield Park District resigns after an internal review. Mike Stratton was placed on unpaid administrative leave last week after board members questioned recent payments he received.
The review covered $3,000 he used without approval. The board accepted Stratton's resignation and asked him to pay back the money. The park district is launching a formal audit.
