GIBSON CITY -- An area doctor has a new title. Dr. Neil Nelson was named Country Doctor of the Year.

It's an award given to physicians in small towns. Nelson has been practicing for more than 20-years,
has more than 5,000 patients and still makes house calls. Nelson is the first doctor from Illinois to ever get the award.

As apart of the award, Dr. Nelson will get two weeks of vacation. It's something he hasn't done for more than 12-years.
