Officer accused of sex crime

CHARLESTON -- A police officer faces charges of criminal sexual assault. Authorities say 33-year old David Iwaniw assaulted a 17-year old girl.

Charleston police and the Coles County State's Attorney's office asked state police to investigate. Iwaniw was hired in 2006 as a patrolman. If he's guilty, he faces up to 15-years in prison.
