SPRINGFIELD -- Lawmakers are asking for public input on a statewide concealed-carry law. Students from UIS are weighing in. They say they don't want guns on campus.

One student says he thinks guns have no place on a college campus. He says he came to Springfield Tuesday afternoon to tell that to lawmakers. He says having more guns on campus will create a more stressful atmosphere for students.

Advocates say guns in classrooms could help prevent or minimize school shootings. Currently, police are the only ones allowed to carry guns on campuses. Students say that's enough.

Under a concealed-carry law on the table right now, only FOID card holders 21-years or older would be eligible for a concealed-carry permit. Illinois is the only state which doesn't allow it. A law must be on the books to legalize by summer.

they should carry if they meet the qualifications. They have more rights than the hoodlems that are robbing them on campus
