DECATUR -- Police want you to know their department's charity is not a scam. There have been reports of people soliciting donations for groups they aren't part of.

The Decatur Police Benevolent and Protective Association wants you to feel confident making a donation. So it launched a new website.

The group supports youth and community groups, church events and makes sure children have gifts at Christmas. In 2012, donations helped them shop for 115 kids.
