WILL COUNTY -- Drew Peterson was sentenced to 38-years in prison for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio. Earlier this week, his defense team asked for a new trial. They say it's because Peterson's former lead attorney botched the first one.

A judge rejected their argument Thursday morning. During an emotional plea in court, Peterson denied being a killer and called his third and missing fourth wives, "liars." Stacy Peterson disappeared in 2007.

WILL COUNTY -- Drew Peterson and his defense team were in court Tuesday asking for a new trial. They say it's because Peterson's former lead attorney botched the first one.

In September, Peterson was convicted of killing his third wife. If the judge denies the motion for a new trial, he's expected to be sentenced Wednesday. The former suburban Chicago cop faces 60-years in prison.
