URBANA -- An already successful community garden will be bigger and better this season. It might not look like much now, but organizers say it will yield at least double what it did last fall.

Gardeners added a second plot and more grow boxes. They plan to grow more than 20 fruits and vegetables. The garden is run completely by volunteers, dozens of whom are neighborhood kids.

"There are many children in the neighborhood and they are eager and ready to be engaged in anything positive, so I think it's fabulous. I think we'll see more family and community involvement," said Robin Arbiter, president of the Lierman Neighborhood Action Committee.

Arbiter says the garden helped feed more than 200 families last fall. With more space to plant this spring, the number of families benefiting should also grow.

Ms Arbiter has helped this community with the help of others so much. I cannot wait to see the gardens going this spring. I am glad to call Robin my friend.
