President visits Illinois to lobby for gun control

CHICAGO -- President Obama returned to the Land of Lincoln Friday. He's pushing to ban assault weapons nationwide, and he's using Illinois as an example.

We have some of the worst gun violence in the country. Just last year, 443 people died in Chicago from gun shots; 65 were under 18-years of age.

Obama says it's not a bad idea to ban weapons, just because it will be tough. Earlier in the day, the President honored each of the fallen teachers from Sandy Hook Elementary.
