DANVILLE -- A 14-year old student was arrested for aggravated battery, accused of hurting a school resource officer. It happened Thursday afternoon at South View Middle School.

The district's public safety director says a teacher called the officer to a classroom to remove a student after he hit another student. The teen resisted and shoved the officer.

The officer was taken to the hospital and has been released. No word on the extent of his injuries.
