Talk of more turbines

The Dogtown Wind Project would install about 50-turbines on State Road 9. The companies filed a permit application last month. If approved, they want to start construction immediately. It would bring the total number of turbines in the area to nearly 150.
Some people say wind farms are a mixed blessing. Some don't want them, others don't mind.
The companies say the Dogtown Wind Farm would bring in about $10-20 million over the next 20-years, as well as jobs. Those companies would get tax credits for the projects.
Turbines already provide a lot of energy for the area. There are currently 94-turbines in Ford County. They generate about 150-megawatts of power each year.
If the project is approved, the energy produced could power about 45,000 homes. There are more than 700 wind turbines in Central Illinois, most in corn and soybean fields.
