Senate approves bill to increase doctor license fees

SPRINGFIELD -- The state senate approved a bill to raise the cost doctors will pay for their licenses. Currently, doctors pay $300 for a three-year permit. That fee hasn't increased since the 1980's.

Senate Bill 622 would increase that fee to $700. It would stay that way until 2018. Then it would drop to $500.
