Updated: February 15, 2013

DECATUR -- People in Macon County are trying to bring back a tradition, but they need your help. The Memorial Day Powerboat Races were a fixture on the lake until 2004.

The event ended because of weather problems. Organizers are trying to get it going again. But they need more sponsors.

Organizers also need $15,000 before April to pay for the event. If you're interested in helping bring back the races, join Lake Decatur Thunder group on Facebook or e-mail organizer Shawn Bowsher at sean52@roostertails.net.
