CHAMPAIGN -- Girl Scout cookie season is in full swing, but changes to how those cookies are ordered caused a small backlog. This year, troops place the orders weekly instead of all at once.

Some troops didn't want to be stuck with extra cookies, so they didn't order as many boxes. Because of that, supplies at the warehouse are a little lower.

Girl Scouts of Central Illinois says the demand this year was higher than some of the troops' estimates. That, combined with lower warehouse supplies caused some orders to be delayed.

GSCI says new shipments went out Thursday morning and more are going out Friday, but some leaders don't know when they will get their cookies. They hope to have them for the cookie booths opening this weekend.
