Updated: March 9, 2007

The list of students accusing teacher Jon White of sexual abuse is growing. Today in a McLean County courtroom, two more students say White sexually molested them when he taught first grade at Colene Hoose Elementary in Normal. White's attorneys question the timing of the allegations. They say they wonder why the students came forward now, during the Champaign County investigation, when the alleged abuse happened between 2003 and 2005. Attorneys Brett Olmstead and Carol Dison say they hope to get the accusers on the stand if White's case goes to trial. In both counties White is now accused of abusing 11 students and faces more than 20 counts of abuse. In McLean County White waived his right to a speedy trial. He's due back in court there at the end of the month for a status hearing. His next appearance in Champaign County is set for next month.
