DIXON -- A former comptroller was sentenced to nearly 20-years in prison Thursday. Rita Crundwell pleaded guilty to wire fraud, admitting she stole more than $53 million while comptroller of the Northern Illinois city.

An FBI agent says the embezzlement started in 1990. After sentencing Crundwell was taken into custody immediately.

She still faces 60 criminal charges in state court in Lee County. She's pleaded not guilty in that case.
