DECATUR -- The city will get thousands in a lawsuit settlement. Syngenta makes atrazine, or weed killer.

The company has agreed to pay $105 million to 1,000 communities. Decatur is one of them.

The U.S. EPA claimed the weed killer could be found in drinking water and cause reproductive problems. Decatur spent thousands to get those chemicals out of its water. Now, the company says the weed killer will not make anyone sick.

"It's good to know. It's good to know that the rumors of bad drinking water aren't true. I'm safe to drink my own water." Nicole Wood said.

The city will get $180,000 for its water fund.
