CHAMPAIGN -- An area investigator got an award from the U.S. Department of Justice. Detective Pat Kelly got a commendation for his work in a case involving Timothy Roth.

Roth was an investment advisor who admitted to defrauding clients for years. He ended up having to pay more than $16-million back to those clients. The DOJ recognized Detective Kelly for helping CPD work quickly on the case.
